Today is the world day of the one thing all women will experience 💁♀️
Can you guess what it is?
We funded more research on World Menopause Day!
Today is World Menopause Day. There’s no way to better way to highlight it than to fund research that could lead to advancing innovations in menopause. That’s why today, to celebrate, we minted our second IP-NFT in Ovarian Aging!
“Every IP-NFT minted at AthenaDAO represents new funding for women’s health research.”
We are supporting Dr. Joshua Johnson and his team for their work in ovarian aging at the University of Colorado. They are pioneering an exciting research project focused on the Integrated Stress Response (ISR) pathway's role in ovarian aging. As the awareness of Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) risks rises, this research aims to delve deeper into understanding the ISR pathway and its key component, eIF2α, in regulating ovarian health.
On this day, we want everyone to remember that though menopause is a significant journey that will impact all women physically, emotionally, and mentally, we still have a long way to go in research, innovation, and funding.

You can learn more about menopause from our inaugural Reproductive Health Report, where we tackled many important conversations in Ovarian Aging.
Our 2nd IP-NFT Ceremony is this Thursday!
Dr. Johnson, renowned for his contributions to reproductive longevity, aims to bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and tangible clinical solutions, potentially revolutionizing our approach to ovarian health and aging.
This Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at 12:00 pm EST / 9 am PST / 6 pm CET, we will be having his official transfer ceremony. We can’t wait to see you there!
We’re having an Authors Book Club & Giveaway! 📚
We are hosting a limited series of AthenaDAO’s Author Book Club, where we get to meet the authors! In our inaugural session, we'll be joined by Dr. Deena Emera, the author of: "A Brief History of the Female Body: An Evolutionary Look at How and Why the Female Form Came to Be".
We'll be giving away 10 books before the book club to people in our community! In order to be eligible, you will have to sign up for this event and be in our Discord.
Deena Emera, PhD, is an evolutionary geneticist, author, and teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, a master’s degree from NYU, and a PhD from Yale. She currently serves as a scientist and writer-in-residence at the Buck Institute’s Center for Reproductive Longevity and Equality. In her new book A Brief History of the Female Body, Deena draws on her expertise as a biologist and experience as a mother of four to explore the mysteries of the female body through an evolutionary lens.
AthenaDAO does Paris + Art Basel 🎨
In Paris? We’ll be at Galerie IHAM this Saturday giving a talk on DeSci and bioDAOs. Our friends at Brawhaus, a 3D Creative Studio & Web3 Talent Agency, have curated an exhibition exploring the convergence of new frontiers of tech and science. On Saturday, we’ll be part of an all-women speaker series in web3 and science. We love to see it.
